You'll almost certainly be familiar with Joe Biden and the Grand Canyon, for instance. Maybe you also play Fortnite and listen to Travis Scott. Or perhaps your soul has withered away to the point that you already had Lis Smith's Politico Live appearance circled on your calendar.

And Travis Scott wasn't truly live, instead we got a prerecorded mix of songs old and new. A new single with Kid Cudi, releasing Thursday night, also debuted in the set. Unlike the DJ Marshmello set last year, this wasn't a truly live experience. And the player audience was limited, probably due to the complex narrative the entire show was telling.

Fortnite's developer Epic Games says the virtual concert drew in 12.3 million players, setting "an all-time record" for an in-game event. Over the course of the performance, Scott appeared as a towering version of himself which transformed into different globe-headed avatars transported through a series of impossible landscapes. The performance also featured the debut of a collaboration with Kid Cudi, "The Scotts."

Epic Games, the creators of the popular video game, announced Monday the musician will premiere a brand new song as part of an "Astronomical" experience within Fortnite. The virtual music tour will run April 23-25, stopping at various timezones across the globe throughout. Scott will also become a part of Fortnite's Icon series, unveiled in January to showcase "the artistic vision, personality, and attitude of top creators" on its platform. Players who attend the Astronomical event will get a free Astroworld Cyclone Glider and two loading screens. They can also unlock additional gear through a series of challenges.
